Who we are: Beastique (PTY) Ltd (“Beastique”, “we”, “us”, “our”) operates the website beastique.com (the “Site”) and sells fine-art works and related services worldwide.
We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how we use and share it, and the rights you have.

Information you provide

  • Checkout & Account: Name, email, phone, billing/shipping address, order details, VAT/Tax number (if applicable), account password.
  • Payments: payment method details (processed by our payment partners—see §7), transaction IDs, refunds/chargebacks.
  • Support & enquiries: emails, messages, attachments, social DMs, call notes.
  • Marketing preferences: newsletter opt-in, cookie choices.
  • User content: product reviews, testimonials, artwork commissions/briefs, and any files you upload.

Information we collect automatically

  • Device & usage data: IP address, device type, browser, OS, pages viewed, time on page, referring URLs, and general location (city/region level).
  • Cookies & similar tech: see §6 Cookies.

Information from third parties

  • Payment providers and couriers: payment status, delivery status.
  • Marketing platforms & analytics tools: campaign performance, aggregated audience insights (no sensitive categories).
  • Fraud-prevention services: signals to help us prevent abuse.
We do not intentionally collect special-category data (e.g., health, race, religion) or data about children (see §12).

3. Why we use your information (purposes & legal bases)

Contract (to perform our agreement with you)

  • To process orders, take payment, arrange delivery/collection, provide customer service, handle returns and warranties, and manage your account.

Legitimate interests (balanced with your rights)

  • To run, secure, and improve the Site; prevent fraud and abuse; understand product performance; send service-related messages; keep basic purchase history for customer care; and market similar products to existing customers (opt-out anytime).

Consent

  • To send newsletters and promotions where the law requires consent.

  • PayFast payment processors (for taking payments and processing refunds).
  • WordPress/WooCommerce E-commerce platform & hosting
  • Couriers & logistics (to deliver your order). Example: The Courier Guy, FedEx
  • Email & marketing tools (to send service emails and, if opted-in, newsletters).
  • Analytics & cookie vendors (see §6).
  • Professional advisers (legal, tax, accounting) and fraud-prevention/security vendors.
  • Authorities where required by law or to protect rights, safety, and property.
  • Business transfers: If we sell/merge/restructure, your data may be transferred under the same protections.
We do not sell your personal information for money. See §11 for U.S. privacy choices.

6. Cookies & similar technologies

Cookies help the Site function properly and enable us to understand how it’s used.

Types of cookies

  • Strictly necessary: required for basic functions (cart, checkout, security).
  • Performance/analytics: aggregated stats on visits and features used.

7. Payments

We use third-party payment processors. Your card details are submitted securely to them and are not stored on our servers.
  • Card transactions for Beastique (PTY) Ltd are acquired via PayFast (Pty) Ltd, the approved payment gateway for South African acquiring banks. PayFast uses industry-standard encryption. More info: payfast.io.

8. International transfers

We operate from South Africa but may process or store data in other countries (e.g., where our providers host). Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or similar mechanisms. By using our Site, you acknowledge that your data may be transferred internationally, subject to these safeguards.

9. How long do we keep your data

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes in this Policy:
  • Orders & tax records: typically 5–7 years (to meet legal requirements).
  • Accounts: while your account is active, there is a reasonable period to resolve issues.
  • Marketing data: We retain your data until you unsubscribe or withdraw your consent (we maintain a minimal record to honour opt-outs).
    When we no longer need data, we securely delete or anonymise it.

10. Security

We use technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk (HTTPS/TLS, access controls, backups, limited retention). No system is 100% secure; please protect your account credentials and tell us immediately if you suspect any unauthorised use.

11. Your privacy rights

South Africa (POPIA)

You have the right to access, correct, delete, object to processing, and withdraw consent (where applicable). You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa). Please contact us first, and we’ll do our best to resolve any issues promptly.

EU/EEA & UK (GDPR/UK GDPR)

You may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, portability, and object to processing (including profiling/marketing), and to withdraw consent at any time. You can also complain to your local supervisory authority.

California (CCPA/CPRA)

California residents may request access, correction, deletion, and to opt out of “sharing” for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not sell personal information for money. To exercise rights or opt out of sharing, email hello@beastique.com.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
How to exercise your rights: email [privacy@beastique.com] and describe your request. We may need to verify your identity. Authorised agents can act on your behalf with proof of authority.

12. Children

Our Site and products are not directed to children under 13 (or the age defined by local law). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with their data, please contact us, and we’ll delete it.

13. User-generated content

If you submit reviews, testimonials, or public comments, that content may be visible to others. Please avoid sharing personal information in public posts.

14. Links to other sites

Our Site may link to third-party websites. Their privacy practices are their own; please review their policies.

15. Changes to this Policy

We reserve the right to update this Policy from time to time. We’ll update the “Effective date” above and, where appropriate, notify you by email or on the Site. Your continued use of the Site means you accept the updated Policy.
